Flying with the IF1200 Batteries

Before Flight

Preflight Checks

Check the following things before flying with any IF1200 battery:

  • Check the charge level. Both batteries should have sufficient remaining charge for flight and should be at similar charge levels (within 10% of each other).

  • Ensure no error warnings are present. These are displayed as triangular lights on top of the battery. Consult the Battery Status LEDs page for more information.

  • Ensure the batteries aren’t leaking, bulging, or damaged.

  • If the battery has been in a low temperature environment (below 5ºC/41ºF) prior to use, preheat the battery by charging or discharging with a small current to above 5ºC/41ºF (nominal temperature is 20ºC/68ºF).

During Flight

Low Power Failsafe

When the batteries reach low power, the aircraft will automatically attempt to return to home or land in place.

Both of these failsafe actions are triggered for each battery. If the Return-to-Home (RTH) procedure is canceled after activation by the first battery, it will be reinitiated when the second battery reaches 3,500 mAh.
