Storing the IF1200 Batteries
This guide contains step by step instructions for placing the IF1200 batteries into storage mode, as well as recommendations for how to store the batteries to best preserve battery health.

Storage Recommendations
Short Term Storage
The ideal voltage to store the IF1200 batteries at is 3.90V, or between 40 ~ 70% charge. Storing the batteries within this range will extend the life of the batteries.
If the IF1200 batteries are fully charged (or above 3.90V), and remain unused for 5 days, they will initiate an automatic discharge process down to 3.90V (between 40 ~70%). The automatic discharge process will heat up the batteries.
Do not store the batteries after they have been discharged below 40%. Charge to storage voltage prior to storing the batteries. See Placing Batteries Into Storage Mode.
Long Term Storage
It is recommended to cycle charge (charge and discharge to storage voltage) the batteries every 3 months to ensure the best service life of the batteries.
If a battery will not be used for a long period of time, always place the battery in Storage Mode. This will charge or discharge the battery to the optimal storage voltage. See Placing Batteries Into Storage Mode.
Shipping
If a battery is getting shipped, it is recommended to put the battery in Storage Mode. This will charge or discharge the battery to the optimal storage voltage. See Placing Batteries Into Storage Mode.
Always ship batteries via Ground transport, and ship in a dedicated fire-resistant battery shipping container.
Storage Safety
ALWAYS
Store batteries in a dedicated, fireproof or fire-resistant container.
Store batteries with at least 40% charge.
Check batteries for damage or swelling prior to storing them.
Check if any error indicator LEDs are present. Follow troubleshooting steps prior to storing and leaving unattended. See Battery Status LEDs.
Keep storage area clean of any debris or loose metal objects.
DO NOT
Ship fully charged batteries.
Allow batteries to come in contact with liquid, and do not store the batteries in a humid place.
Keep the batteries where children can reach them.
Store the batteries in an environment where temperatures can exceed 25ºC (77ºF).
Stack batteries in storage.
Placing Batteries into Storage Mode
Find a clear space with ample room to place down the charger and batteries.

Plug the power cable into the back of the charger, and the other end into a wall outlet or power strip.
The charger does not have a power button, and will turn on automatically when it receives power. Because of this, it is recommended to plug the charger into a dedicated power strip to easily switch the charger on and off.

Before plugging the battery into the charger, press the red power button and confirm the battery power on with no triangluar error LEDs present.
If you see any error lights, do not proceed. Consult this chart to diagnose and resolve the issue.

Ensure that the balance cable is plugged into Balance Port A as shown.

Plug the other end of the balance cable into the battery.

Note that the white connector on the balance cable is not used.

Plug the yellow connector on the battery into Charge Port A.

Repeat steps 3-5 for Channel B.

Once both batteries are plugged in, press the current button to cycle through currents. It is recommended to set this to 16A, as that is the 1C charging rate for 16000mAh batteries.

Press the Mode button to cycle between modes until Storage mode is selected.

Press and hold the Start/Stop button to initiate the storage process.

Once the batteries are finished charging or discharging to storage voltage and display a Complete or Idle state, it is safe to unplug both batteries.
IMPORTANT! Unplugging Batteries Before Reaching Storage Voltage
DO NOT disconnect the battery cable from the charger while the battery is charging or discharging. Doing so may result in electrical arcing, causing severe burns to the operator.
