# Minimum Obstacle Standoff Distance

The IF1200 relies on GNSS-derived position, and barometric-derived altitude for all autonomous and position-assisted flight modes. GNSS & barometric accuracy can varies with different operating conditions. In situations where the GNSS & barometric data drifts, the aircraft has no secondary reference to fall back on. For these reasons, the operator should maintain a minimum separation of 10 meters between the aircraft and any obstacle in all directions, during all phases of flight.

Before taking off, the operator should survey the operating area and identify all obstacles. The mission must be planned such that the aircraft maintains 10 meters clearance. Additionally, set the RTL altitude 10 meters above the tallest obstacle in the operating area.&#x20;

If operation closer than 10 meters is required:

* Fly in a manual or position-assisted mode with the pilot in direct control. Do not fly autonomous missions inside the 10 meter envelope.
* Maintain unobstructed visual line of sight to the aircraft and the obstacle, using a visual observer where the pilot's view may be blocked.
* Establish an abort direction before flying within 10 meters of any object.
