Dovetail Kit Removal

Instructions for removing the IF1200 Dovetail kit, which consists of the midweight damping plate and smart dovetail, from the Aircraft.

1. Unscrew the thumbscrew located on the front of the quick release.

1. Press and hold the button on the side of quick release, then slide the smart dovetail off of the damping plate.

1. Unscrew the 4 thumbscrews that secure the damping plate to the payload rails, 2 on each side. Flip open the rail clamps.

1. Twist the damping plate to remove it from the rails.

To minimize scratching the rails, squeeze both rail clamps from either side to take pressure off while performing this process.

1. Using a 1.5mm hex driver, unscrew the 2 center screws on the dovetail harness connectors.

1. Using a small flathead screwdriver, unscrew the 4 outside screws on the dovetail harness connectors.

Alternate between the 2 flathead screws, doing 1-2 rotations each time. Unscrewing one side completely will damage the connector.

1. Dovetail kit removal complete! Reassemble your dovetail kit for easy storage.
