Updating Firmware

IF1200A Firmware Updating

Upgrade the Aircraft Firmware

Note: Firmware upgrades are only necessary if advised by Inspired Flight. The aircraft comes with firmware installed at the factory.

Mission Planner needs to be installed on a PC to update IF1200A firmware.

STEP	ACTION
1	The aircraft does not need to be powered ON. 5V PC power is sufficient.
2	Open Mission Planner on a PC (install the program if necessary)
3	Open the Settings tab, then Vehicle Setup
4	Click on Firmware
5	Connect a USB-C to USB-A cable between the aircraft’s USB port (see below), and the device with Mission Planner.

6	Connect to the vehicle using the MavLink COM Port connection. Note: the COM number may change but always select the "MavLink" option. Then, select Connect. (upper right)
7	Save your current parameters for your records. Click, Config > Full Parameter Tree > Save to file. (Fig. 1)

8	Click, Set-Up > Install Firmware > click Load Custom Firmware. Locate the IFT verified Ardupilot .APJ file on your PC and install the firmware. (Fig. 2)
9	Wait about one minute for the firmware to update.

9	In the Set-up tab, open Mandatory Hardware > Frame Type. And confirm 'X. Y6A' is selected (Fig. 3 below)

10	Disconnect the USB cable from the aircraft.
