If using the Pro Damping Kit on the IF800, IFT recommends the Vio payload be mounted in Position 2. Please see the IF800 Payload Mounting section for additional details.
Ensure the aircraft and payload are turned off prior to connecting or disconnecting the LR1 from the dovetail.
Mounting the LR1 to the Aircraft Dovetail:
Align payload dovetail connector with the aircraft dovetail socket and insert the dovetail connector into the dovetail socket. When fully inserted the safety latch will click.
When attaching payloads to the dovetail, line up and slide in along the red dashed lines.
Push the quick release lever on the side of the dovetail socket towards the aft (back) of the aircraft. You will feel the tension of the quick release lever get tighter as you press the lever all the way against the dovetail mount.
After sliding into the dovetail, tighten the red lever flush against the dovetail mount by latching it into place as shown on the right.
Ensure that the LR1 payload is straight and level prior to turning on the system. (see image below).
The LR1 payload needs to be straight and level prior to turning on the aircraft, as above.
Detaching the LR1 from the Aircraft Dovetail:
Unlock the red lever by pulling it towards the front of the aircraft.
To detach, open the red lever as shown on the right.
When the lever is in the open position, press the red safety latch on the opposite side of the dovetail mount, then pull the payload towards the front of the aircraft until it slides free.
To remove the payload from the dovetail, press the red safety latch and slide out.
