ARCHIVE Updating IF1200 Aircraft Firmware
This page is a guide for updating the firmware on an IF1200.
For safety, keep IF800 arms folded and propeller holders installed during upgrade process.
1 - Open Mission Planner on a PC.
2 - Connect a USB-C to USB-A cable between the aircraft's USB port and the PC's USB port
3 - Connect to the vehicle using the MavLINK Com Port Connection
Note: the COM number may change but always select the "MavLink" option.
Then, select Connect in the upper right corner.

4 - Verify the Cube Firmware
Navigate to the Messages tab. Scroll through the data until the cube version is visible.
There are several different firmware available depending on the airframe and the cube. It is very important to download the correct cube software.

5 - Download the firmware file
6 - Save your current parameters for your records
Save to file as “Pre-update_Params

Click, Config
7 - Select Setup from the top menu
Select Install Firmware from the left side menu
Select Load Custom Firmware from the lower right menu.

8 - Locate the downloaded firmware files on your PC and install the firmware
Wait for the firmware to update.
The progress bar will fill and a "Complete" message will pop up
9 - Once the update completes, click on Connect once more

10 - Next, disconnect the USB cable from the aircraft
11 - Verify Accelerometer and Compass
This step should be completed outdoors for safety
Plug in one battery.
Boot the aircraft and GCS on.
Select the IFT logo in the top left.
Select Vehicle Set Up.
Select Summary.
Frame, Radio, and Sensors should all have a green circle next to them. (If not, contact Customer Success.)
12 - Power Down the aircraft and reinstall propellers
13 - The firmware update requires parameter changes to enable strobe functionality
Download Lua Script for the aircraft
Select the following script and save it to your computer's local drive - Payload_1.lua
Select the com port "COM#... Mavlink"
Please note - in the case of multiple Mavlink options, please select AUTO to determine the correct COM#
14 - Click the Connect button and wait for the parameters to load
Click on the CONFIG tab
Click the Full Parameter List tab
Allow the parameters to fully load
15 - From the side menu, select Compare Params
Select the correct file
CAM2_TYPE, 5 - this enables Sentera payload
SCR_ENABLE, 1 - this enables Lua Scripts
SERIAL3_BAUD, 115 - this sets serial 3 baud rate to 1152000

16 - A ParamCompare window will appear
