For information on how to swap from the LR1 to the Vio on Herelink and IGC go here.
Align payload dovetail connector with the aircraft dovesocket quick release mount and insert the dovetail into the dovesocket. When the dovetail is fully inserted the safety latch will click. This is an indicator that the payload is fully inserted into the quick release mount.
Push the quick release lever on the side of the dovesocket towards the back of the aircraft. You will feel the tension of the quick release lever get tighter and it should be hand tight prior to hitting the dovesocket housing. This ensures a tight, vibration free, secure connection between the payload and the aircraft.
To remove the payload, unlock the red lever by pulling it towards the front of the aircraft. When the lever is in the open position, press the red locking button on the opposite side and pull the gimbal by the locking mechanism towards the front of the aircraft until it slides free.
Starting with the drone powered OFF and the red lever in the unlock position, attach the gimbal to the dovetail connector on the bottom side of the drone and lock the red lever in place.
Power on the controller, open the Herelink Settings and IGC applications. Then power on the drone and allow the startup sequence to run. Initialization will take approximately 1 minute.
When initialization is complete, you will see the Vio action menu populate on the right side of the screen. The HDMI video feed will display camera settings in green on the left side of the screen.
The camera is NOT set up to trigger photo captures during an automated mission.
Use the Herelink scroll wheel (top left) to control the gimbal movement and the trigger button (top right) to switch the scroll wheel between pan and tilt control.
This menu allows the user to customize the actions of the Vio camera in EO mode and IR mode. Ensure RC Mode stays set to Gremsy and the EO Zoom Mode is set to Super Resolution for the on screen zoom buttons to function properly. If the menu is opened in IR video mode it will show settings for the IR camera.
To open extended settings select the white gear icon in the top right corner of the IGC screen.
For inspection or public safety applications, the camera is used in manual mode switching between the EO and IR modes. Other applications may prefer to use only EO or only IR. Use the Video Record Source to specify if you’d like to record both EO/IR or only EO/only IR data.
Files are stored in the micro SD Card in the bottom of the camera. Open the latch to access the micro SD card. Connect the micro SD card to a computer to view the files.
