Updating IGC from version 1.2 and beyond

This procedure explains how to update the Inspired Ground Control (IGC) on your Ground Control Station (GCS). Downloading the new version may take a few minutes to complete.

This process will 'forget' all pilots from the device's memory. Please ensure necessary pilots login and reset their pin before flying in areas without internet connection.

Updating your IGC software may change any custom settings your team has setup on your aircraft. We recommend documenting your settings prior to updating and then verifying that they are correct after the fact.

• Tap on the IGC Icon in the upper left

• Tap on the Application Settings button

• Tap on the IGC Menu item

• Under the App Downloads section, Tap on Get App Updates to see available updates

• Tap the Download button for the desired version (The Latest Release is recommended)

  • See IGC Version History

• After the download has completed, Tap the Install button

• After the installation has completed, Tap the Open button.

• Close the IGC App and Reopen it to see the new version

  • Swipe in from the left edge of the screen to see the native Android buttons

  • Tap the square

  • You will now be able to see a list of all open apps on the device

  • Press the 'x' for IGC to close it

  • Tap outside of the box to see the native Android home screen

  • Reopen the IGC app by tapping on the IGC app

Confirm Settings Are Set Correctly:

Updating your IGC software may change any custom settings your team has setup on your aircraft. We recommend documenting your settings prior to updating and then verifying all custom settings are correct after the update is complete.

To check commonly changed Settings:

1. Tap on the IGC Icon in the upper left

2. Tap on the Application Settings button

3. Tap on the General Menu item

4. Scroll down to Units

   1. Verify that they are set correctly (Metric/Imperial)

5. Go back to the flight screen

6. Tap on the IGC icon in the upper left

7. Tap on the Vehicle Setup button

8. Scroll to Button Mapping

   1. Verify that button mappings are correct

Note: If you are installing a version of IGC that includes pilot authentication for the first time, you may need to setup your organization in the Inspired Suite. Please have your fleet manager register your organization on Elevate. From there they can issues pilot logins to team members, see the health of their aircraft, and more.
