Updating Pixy LR Gimbal

This page instructs on how to update Gremsy Pixy LR Gimbal for ILX-LR1 Payload. This update is meant to be in conjunction with updating to IGC version 1.3 or later.

Updating VIO Payload App Software

Tools Required:

Laptop with gTuneDesktop installed

USB-C Cable to USB-A (cable to connect to laptop)

Vehicle with dovetail and GCS

Batteries or Power supply that can connect to the aircraft

ILX-LR1 Payload

PROCEDURE:

Setting up the computer + downloading the software file:

  1. Update your ILX-LR1 Mavcam Firmware first.

  2. Download the Vio_sw_package.zip file onto your computer

    1. Link

    2. Keep compressed/ do not extract

  3. Connect the USB-C on the gimbal of the ILX-LR1 to the USB-A on your computer

  4. Connect the payload to a drone with a dovetail

  5. Power on the payload, aircraft, and GCS

  6. Launch gTuneDesktop

  7. Select Pixy LR

  8. Select Search

  9. Select Connect

  1. Open Connection

  1. Select Serial Option

  1. Select USB COM port

  1. Select Connect

  1. Select the Upgrade Tab

  2. Select Upgrade Firmware

  3. Select Manual Upgrade

  4. Select Browse

  5. Navigate to your downloaded file and select.

  6. Wait for the upgrade to say Completed

WARNING: Do not interrupt the drones power for the entire duration of the firmware update! Do not power off the drone
