Updating VIO Camera Settings

Uploading the VIO firmware in this instruction will upgrade the payload app, streaming app, and settings app. This update is meant to be in conjunction with updating to IGC version 1.3 or later.

Please note these instructions are compatible with those using Windows 11.

Connect USB-C to USB-A from the bottom of the VIO camera to a PC

In Windows 11, Navigate to Settings

  1. Select Network & Internet

  2. Select Ethernet

  3. Under IP Assignment select Edit

  4. Choose Manual

  5. Set IPv4 to On

  6. Enter the following

    1. IP Address: 192.168.55.110

    2. Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Open a web browser

Confirm if settings are up to date

  • If camera settings match, proceed to step 5

  • If Gimbal Firmware is not 7.8.6, follow instructions for Gimbal Firmware Update

Download VIO software

  • VIO Software 2.1.0.4 zip file can be downloaded here

  • Please note the file name is vio_sw_package.zip

Select Manual Update within the software interface

  • Select Browse to locate the VIO software file (vio_sw_package.zip)

  • DO NOT UNZIP THE FILE

  • After selecting the file, click on Update

  • Wait until you see DONE

Power Cycle the Aircraft

Wait for approximately two minutes until the purple LED on the gimbal indicates a successful boot.

In Windows 11, navigate to Settings

  • Select Network & Internet

  • Select Ethernet

  • Under IP Assignment, select edit

    • Choose Manual

    • Set IPv4 to On

    • Enter

      • IP Address: 192.168.55.110

      • Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

Open a web broswer and go to the VIO web GUI at http://192.168.55.1:8000/

  • Select Systems in the blue bar

Under Operation Mode select the following

  1. Select EIS Status dropdown

  2. Select Enable

  3. Press the blue Apply button

  4. Press the red Reboot System button

Once rebooted, check to see the EIS is enabled.

You can check this by viewing the Vio video stream on the GCS. There will be a green EIS v1 text visible in the top left corner of the video stream.
