How to Reformat Geotagged Files:

Due to the unique way Sony implemented geotagging on the LR1, a post processing step is required for geotagged images. Follow the steps below to ensure your geotagged images are formatted into the industry standard format.

  1. Download the desktop app "IFT LR1 Geotagging Tool", provided by Inspired Flight.

    1. Windows Version Download Here.

    2. Linux Version Download Here.

  2. Remove the SD card from the LR1

Remove the SD card from the LR1
  1. Connect** the SD card to your computer that you have downloaded the 'IFT LR1 Geotagging Tool' to.

Note: the speed at which the images are formatted is dependent on how you connect the SD card to your PC. A dedicated card reader is fastest, a card reader connected via USB C or USB 3.0 is medium, and a card reader, using USB 2.0 will be slow.

  1. The app will auto recognize the LR1 SD card. Press the 'Start' button and allow the process to run until it says "Finished".

Once this screen pops up, select 'Start'. Allow the program to run until the top bar reads 'Finished'.
  1. After the screen displays 'Finished' at the top. Select 'Exit'.

After the program has finished. Select Exit.
  1. Now your images are correctly formatted.
